sandro // fall-winter 2014/15

Here are luxe, we love to explore all things fashion and its not limited to just the designers we stock at luxe. We love to discover and follow designers that push their boundaries and are able to expand their presence past their home country.

French luxury label, Sandro, is certainly testament to that statement. Launched in 1984 in Paris, Sandro opened its first boutique in the heart of the Marais. To date, Sandro has a global following with 202 boutiques worldwide and counting. Sandro has continued its surge with its first store in South East Asia, opening in Singapore recently in June 2014.

For Fall/Winter 2014-15, Sandro presents “Wonder”.  This collection is inspired by the British look with the bomber jacket, the hero piece of this season, presented in several variations, short, long, velvet and mesh. Checks, stripes and modern plaid all feature in this collection with bold colors and graffiti tops and dresses reminiscent of the 1980’s.  This season, Sandro presents a unique collection that is both stylish and versatile, leaving us lusting for many pieces in the collection.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the upcoming Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection that I viewed at the recent media preview for Sandro in Singapore.

valentino fall/winter 2014-15

Innocence. Spontaneity. Energy. Sentiment.

For Fall/Winter 2014-15, Valentino’s designers were inspired by women artists whose works were deeply rooted in times of change, the revolution and Italian and Roman culture. These women expressed their need to exist, not just to appear, in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Recently I attended the media preview for Valentino’s fall/winter 2014-15 collection in Singapore. I was amazed at the range of the collection, from 1970s style polka dots and block prints to textured surfaces, printed with intarsia and embellishments in a dazzling collection where each piece of clothing looked like a piece of artwork. Metallic butterflies and flowers swayed and were arranged in camouflage patterns on jackets and coats along with lace, flowers and geometric shapes interspersed amongst the prints on skirts and dresses.

Captured below are the runway pictures of my favourite pieces from the collection which I viewed at the media preview. Nothing is quite as special as viewing these amazing pieces in real life but I hope to give you a good sense from the runway pictures below.

At the media preview, I managed to snap a few close-ups of the beautiful details of the embellishments on the pieces.  As you will see below, intricate lace featured alongside metallic butterflies and turkey feathers on the most gorgeous of jackets, dresses and gowns.

This amazing collection will be arriving in Valentino stores worldwide from August 2014.
