Leonardo da Vinci’s sketch of the flower of life

Our favourite bespoke fine jewellery designer By Charlotte’s latest collection features the flower of life pendant on fine chain necklaces and bracelets, accented with a ruby, peridot or amethyst drop.

The flower of life is a geometrical shape composed of multiple evenly spaced, overlapping circles arranged in a flower like pattern with six fold symmetry like a hexagon. The perfect form, proportion and harmony of the flower of life has been known to philosophers, architects and artist around the world. In New Age thought, the flower of life is considered to have deep spiritual meaning. The symbol can be found in manuscripts, temples and art throughout cultures around the world.

This symbol is said to hold the most important and most sacred patterns of the universe and is the harbinger of all life and existence—from molecules and atoms to planets and galaxies.

bec & bridge // sneak peek

I must confess I do enjoy a peek into people’s lives and homes.  Bec & Bridge is one of our favourite labels, one of our best selling and long standing labels, we started with them in 2007. Bec & Bridge also happens to be one of the fastest growing fashion brands in Australia and they have recently expanded into the US, with stockists like Saks and shopbop. So, this is just the beginning…

What may not be as well knows is that Bridge is also mother to two young boys – super cute, gorgeous, cheeky and lively boys.  Together with her husband, Bridge is a committed Christian and is raising her boys with values such as other person centeredness, humility, thankfulness and that it’s better to give than to receive.

The photos above are only a small portion of the feature.  They are stunning in their simplicity and freshness.  The boys are adorable and totally natural. It’s lovely to see genuine love and beauty come through the photos. And the fashion is not bad either! Bridge is wearing all Bec & Bridge in the photos, some of which we still have in stock and others are coming soon.

Inspired by a visit to the Rome Opera workshops, Valentino presented an ornate spring-summer 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week.  Focusing on richly textured and coloured embroidery the Valentino woman wears her signature romantic gowns coloured in richest of rich hues of coral, deep red and emerald-green. With simple and relaxed silhouettes, there is a focus on embellishment. Incredibly detailed lace and brocades texturized like crepe de chiné as well as jewellery, handbags and sandals will all adorn the Valentino woman’s wardrobe for spring.

A new beauty discovery platform in South East Asia // Vanity Trove is a website (www.vanitytrove.com) and mobile social media platform that aims to let women share their beauty regime and fashion styles to the world.

Recently, I attended a Vanity Trove event called ‘Get, Snap, Blingo’ at Zouk, one of Singapore’s most popular nightclubs. The theme of the night was ‘modern hippie chic’ and there were plenty of beautiful people dressed up as hippie chicks for the event. There were many sponsors on the night from the make-up, beauty and hair industry. The girls from Benefit cosmetics were around to showcase their products and help out anyone that needed touch-ups for the night. L’oreal hair was busy with styling girls throughout the night.

We were also spoiled with delectable delights with a buffet dessert table that included all of my favourite sweets – macaroons, lemon meringue cupcakes and chocolate tarts! The highlight of the night for me was winning a L’oreal Professional Hair Styler Steam Pod. Gosh, I have never won anything in my life before and I was presented with this huge gift on stage! I am very grateful for the prize, so thank you L’oreal!

At this event, I wore bustier top and maxi skirt from Australian designers Kindred.

We had a great time being hippie chicks for a night! Thanks Vanity Trove xoxo
